Used Forestry Equipment

Used forestry equipment must be strong, reliable, and from a seller that you can trust. If you purchase one of these items from a second hand seller, or from another company that no longer needs them, then you need to make sure that nothing horrible will happen while you’re using them. For example, if your log loader or processor breaks down, that can not only stop production for the whole day, it can also block other work so that even more time and money is lost. If you are clearing trees from your own land, or harvesting your own trees for lumber, you might want to consider just renting the various items, tools, trucks, and gear that you might need. For one time use, it’ll be more affordable than purchasing it pre-owned. However, if you have a great deal of work to do, or you plan to do work in a heavily wooded area on a regular basis, it will be more cost effective to own or lease your own gear.

Some common pieces of used forestry equipment include skidders, forwarders, processors, harvesters, delimbers, feller bunches, chippers, stump grinders, log trucks, tractors, log loaders, mulchers, mowers, and firewood processors. These items are all technically useful for different parts of the process. For example, if you are actually logging trees for lumber, then you would use the skidders, harvesters, delimbers, and the like. However, if you have already logged the trees, and you want to clear the land for other use, you would be interested in chippers, mulchers, stump grinders, and mowers. As you can tell by the names, they are all meant to process the heavy pieces of wood down into something easily used or something that can be easily discarded.
