Machinery is a very broad term. You can point to almost any piece of equipment used on a construction site as an example of this term. Some of it is quite large—the cranes are seriously hundreds of feet tall and weigh several tons. While other items are quite small, and can even be used by hand. As a result of the variety available, there is also a huge range when it comes to prices. You just can’t say that these sort of items fall under any specific price range. You can’t even say what is affordable or completely expensive. That is because the term is so very broad.

Manufacturers of machinery include Caterpillar equipment, Deere equipment, Case equipment, Komatsu equipment, Bobcat equipment, Hitachi equipment, Volvo equipment, JCB equipment, New Holland equipment, Grove equipment, and Terex equipment. The different things they sell include air compressors, concrete equipment, drills, forklifts, evacuators, loader backhoe, pipe layer, pump, scraper, trenchers, dozers, and generators. Again, that’s a very short list of everything that might be a considered a machine.

You can buy those items used or new, depending on what you need and how much you are willing to spend. You can even rent them from certain vendors. It is very common for somebody to need one or two pieces of equipment for a simple job. In that case, it’s ridiculous to pay multiple thousands of dollars for the equipment when you can rent it for a few hundred dollars a day or a month.
